Present owner had a vision and the time to restore/refit this 74’ Hatteras Motor Yacht with the plan to relocate her to the Bahamas and live aboard her as a secondary home for him and his family. He completed about 85% of the Refit then stopped work once an opportunity arose where he was able to acquire a permanent house in the Bahamas. Now that all his efforts are focused on his new house, he is making it available for sale.
Full Disclosure:
Owner has spent over $230,000 in the last 24 months (with records, receipts and a logbook to prove). Broker''s Notes and Comments
HATT’S OFF is a great platform for somebody that knows the basics of working on a yacht or has people to do it and do it correctly. All work thus far has been done through a reputable Yacht Management Company, and a good chunk of the hidden and unhidden things have been identified. Owner spent over $230,000 (2023-2024) getting vessel to its present workable state. I would consider the things done so far, the “important” stuff.
***Vessel was Last Surveyed 2/20/2025 so that reconfirms everything.
The list below is the abbreviated short list of what the broker thinks the boat will need once Purchased. Granted this is the brokers’ opinion after talking with the Yacht Management Company of what was slotted to be done. SAM or NAMS Surveyor will determine/help dictate.
- Yard Period (Bottom will probably need to be media blasted, any osmotic blisters identified and rectified, bottom re barrier coated, and bottom painted. All Running gear will need to be tuned and antifouled. Cutlass and Dripless all Redone. Many through hulls need service.
- Upholstery (In Salon Dinette and Helm Chair Recovered or Redyed)
- Mechanical (Heat exchangers serviced and redone. Various Fuel Lines and Hoses replaced, Main Impellors need to be changed once through hulls are changed out/free)
- Service Items (Davit and Watermaker, Halon would need service/inspection if put back online)
- Furniture/Cosmetic (Salon would need furniture. (Couch, Dining Room Table, Chairs Etc.) Due to age all things that were in vessel were thrown out due to age and wear. Vessel needs some cosmetic touch ups done throughout.
- Air Conditioning Systems (Need to have units reworked. There are two brand new units on vessel that need to be installed. Would suggest just going through and redoing/upgrading the system.)
- Misc. Items (Halon Reinspected, Backsplash installed in Galley, Some electronics could be updated, Misc. Hoses replaced, would change out some lighting.
