The Boston Marathon is one of the most prestigious and historic races in the world. The first run was in 1897, it is the oldest annual marathon and attracts runners from every corner of the globe. The 26.2-mile course begins in the town of Hopkinton and winds its way through eight Massachusetts cities and towns—including Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, and Brookline—before finishing on Boylston Street in downtown Boston. Along the way, runners face challenging hills (including the infamous Heartbreak Hill), roaring crowds, and one of the most iconic finishes in sport.
Rick’s participation in this legendary race was fueled by a mission larger than the finish line. By running in support of the Finish Strong Foundation—created by Dave McGillivray—Rick helped raise awareness and funds to support youth programs that emphasize healthy lifestyles, literacy, and personal growth. Thanks to the generosity of his supporters, Rick raised an impressive $15,000 in donations for the Finish Strong Foundation.
The Finish Strong Foundation’s mission is rooted in giving children the tools they need to build self-confidence and lead meaningful, active lives. Rick’s commitment to this cause reflects his passion for uplifting others and his belief that success is not just about where you finish—but how you run the race.
